Messenian Beach

H παραλία του όρμου της Βοϊδοκοιλιάς.
Λιμνοθάλασσα της Γιάλοβας, Μεσσηνία.

Voidokilia Bay beach.
Lagoon of Gialova, Messenia – Greece.

Voidokilia is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and the Mediterranean Sea. The sheltered bay is referred to in Homer's Odyssey and archaeologists believe it was used in ancient times by King Nestor as a port. The curve of Voidokilia (the name means "cow's belly") seems to be traced with a compass, like a giant Greek omega, from the two rocky promontories that define its entrance.

PS: on the right, you may see my family playing in the sand.
