A car caught fire in a parking lot. Fortunately, the Fire Department arrived before the fire spread in other cars and a nearby field.

The Last Temptation

Toledo, Spain.







Borrowed the title from the novel, “The Last Temptation of Christ” by Nikos Kazantzakis.

The Last Temptation created controversy as soon as it was published in 1951. The Vatican put it on their Index of Forbidden Books, and the Greek Orthodox Church excommunicated the author. When the novel was turned into a movie in 1988 by Martin Scorsese, a number of countries banned it from being shown and there were protests worldwide at screenings.
For N. Kazantzakis, Jesus was both truly man and truly God. While free from sin, was still subject to every form of temptation that humans face, including fear, doubt, depression, reluctance, and lust. Kazantzakis argues in the novel's preface that by facing and conquering all of man's weaknesses, Jesus struggled to do God's will, without ever giving in to the temptations of the flesh.

Rastaman Vibration

Park Güell is a garden complex with architectural elements situated on the hill of El Carmel in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. It was designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and built in the years 1900 to 1914.

Kardamyli

Kardamyli, West Mani, Messenia – Greece.

Kardamyli (or Kardamili) is a seaside village located in the Mani, a stunning region in the southern Peloponnese. In the Iliad (Book 9), Homer cites Kardamyli as one of the seven cities offered by Agamemnon to Achilles as a condition to rejoin the fight during the Trojan War. The village preserves its ancient name. The older town includes a medieval castle and the imposing church of Saint Spyridon.




The skyline of Kardamyli, like many other Maniot towns and villages, is dominated by the distinctive regional architectural of the various towers built by scions of the Nikliani clans, the medieval aristocracy of the Mani. Kardamyli is the departure point of many mountain trails, some of which lead to the peak of Mount Taygetus. Nearby is the Viros Gorge, with a total length of 20 km.
